Cometic uses stainless steel for increased strength, its ability to rebound and resist corrosion. The outer layers of the gasket are embossed and coated on both sides with a Viton rubber material designed to meet the demands of a variety of harsh sealing environments, load conditions and surface finishes. magnet will hold a drill but anything much heavier it will start to slide. have on e on fridge, 2 on safe and on on garage cabinet. fridge and safe hold the least, i guess due to plastic over magnet and coating on the safe and fridge. cabinet does best but still will slide with any significant weight. holds my drills ok however.
