It is strung and knotted securely by hand on a dark mushroom coloured waxed cotton cord and is virtually metal free. It measures approximately 36. 5"

Have owned many of these cordless wine openers, some by major brands. The batteries on all seem to fail after a few years, so decided to get this cheaper version during Prime Days. After 5 months, it's holding up well. The wine foil opener is a little flimsy, but if you grip it tightly, it's fine (though it seems that it could easily break).
