Its a 3. 5 6061 T6 aluminum shaft that is a direct bolt on. By removing the factory 2 piece shaft the car will lose the excessive motion caused by the hanger bearing moving up and down when you step on the gas. My favorite BMW car mount.
This is my favorite mount for BMWs. I have them on two cars (X4M and a 328), but I always modify the mount and install a metal ball (purchased here on Amazon) so I can mount an ESR Wireless charger.
