From this first issue, I like that Superman’s origin story is different from what we know. Although Kal’s parents are of the lower class, JorEl is still the one who seems to know about Krypton’s impending doom. It caught me off guard that Lois isn’t a reporter but part of this Lazarus Military. This kinda makes sense because she’s a military brat and her father is a General. This story is pretty cool so far. I don’t mind change as long as the story makes sense and the core of the characters are still intact. So far I have, I have no idea what to expect, but it’s getting good. Can’t wait for the next issue. Btw, Superman’s new suit looks dope!

Another great story set in the new Absolute Universe. I'm glad that we're getting new versions of the classic DC icons and not yet another rehashing of the same old origins. The differences in Kal-Els powers and his past are very interesting. I can't wait to see exactly what they are.
