Seit dem Jahr 1919 zhlte Magirus zu den bekannten Omnibusherstellern in Deutschland. Sowohl Reichspost und Reichsbahn wie spter auch Bundespost und Bundesbahn zhlten zu den Groabnehmern der gelben und roten berlandbusse, die ab 1956 aus dem Werk in Mainz kamen und vor allem in West und Sddeutschland zum Einsatz
