It was sold at a new price and it was clearly a used item. Upon opening the box, I noticed : 1. The power cord was wrapped with a dirty, pink hair band. 2. The unit was not in plastic like a new item. 3. The FM antenna was missing. 4. The remote had old, used batteries in it. This should not have been re-sold.

Yet of course audiophile ears are more picky and won't stay still with this kit. Therefore I purchased the silvery stereo amps afterwards cux I knew prices would go up very high and it is now proven positively and more so... Grab one even if used as ye still may... The AR 202 has an extraordinarily energetic drive in stereo sound given it's the youngest brother in the family. It brought much glory to the whole brand indeed... Review in 2019: "...performs much better than the beefed up version 100v Yamaha A-S301 silver in way of responsive and agile bass, larger soundstage, impressive midrange and fine treble. no wonder it is the best selling amp in 2017 and 2018. i suppose the cult still goes on......"
